What this site exists to do
Pet ownership is a years-long sequence of buying decisions — the first crate, the right food, the orthopedic bed when the muzzle goes grey. Most of the internet answers those moments with thin listicles. MyPetGuid exists to answer them with structure: normalized specs, sourced prices, honest verdicts, and free tools that turn data into answers fitted to your pet.
What we cover
What we do not claim
- We do not replace veterinary advice
- We do not sell rankings
- We do not call something tested unless it was tested
- We do not publish fake expert personas
Who it's for
Dog and cat owners only — we deliberately cover two species well instead of ten species thinly. Especially: new puppy and kitten owners setting up for the first time, owners solving a specific problem (odor, scratching, aging joints), and anyone trying to keep a pet budget under control.
Why tradeoffs are the whole brand
Every product is a compromise — the clinically-backed bed costs three times its rivals; the cheapest crate uses lighter wire. A review that hides the catch isn't a review, it's an ad. That's why every pick on this site carries a visible "Tradeoff" line, on the card and in the review, including our winners.
Who writes this
MyPetGuid is maintained by an editorial team focused on product research, specification comparison, owner-review analysis, and practical buying guidance. We don't publish invented experts or borrowed credentials — when hands-on testing or veterinary review happens, it will be named and labeled; until then, picks carry the honest Researched label defined in How We Test.
Our operating rules
Brands cannot buy rankings
No paid placements, badges, star ratings, or product positions.
We don't say tested unless tested
Hands-on testing gets labeled. Research-only picks stay labeled researched.
Tradeoffs are required
Every recommendation needs a catch, limitation, or best-fit context.
Corrections are welcome
Readers can report stale prices, broken links, product changes, or errors.
How we're funded
Affiliate commissions, transparently disclosed above every monetized module. Picks are made before links are attached — read the Affiliate Disclosure for the plain-language version of how that works.
